 ELVIS PRESLEY'S MANAGER DIES  
                             
 Colonel Tom Parker, who shrewdly guided
 Elvis Presley's career for 22 years,   
 has died. He was 87.                   
                                        
 Parker, who became Presley's manager in
 1955 just as the Memphis sjngjr was    
 breaking onto the scene, died of       
 complications of a stroke.             
                                        
 He stayed as Elvis's manager until "the
 king of rock 'n' roll" died on August  
 16, 1977^
