 expressed his delight at securing his  
 first try against Scotland.            
                                        
 The ex-skipper touched down during a   
 second-half points spree for England   
 who finished 41-13 vectors to launch   
 the defence of their crown in style.   
                                        
 He said: "I was very pleased, but it   
 was a great team performance."

 CARLING "RULES HIMSELF OUT FOR TOU5"   
                                        
 Will Carling has ruled himself out of  
 the summer's British Lions tour of     
 South Africa, saying: "I need a break."
                                        
 Carling, who crowned a super display in
 the Calcutta Cup win over Scotland with
 a try, reportedly told Lions boss Fran 
 Cotton of his decision not to tour.    
                                        
 Carling said in the Mail on Sunday: "My
 body and mz mind need a rest and at the
 end of the season I must take time off"
