 MODAHL TAKES TAPE IN JAPAN             
                                        
 Britain's Diane Modahl won the 800m at 
 the Osaka Grand Prix, beating her      
 nearest rival by a quarter of a second.
                                        
 Modahl ran in a time of 2min 2.79sec,  
 with Jamaica's Inez Turner second in   
 2:03.05 and American Amy Wickus third  
 in 2:03.15.                            
                                        
 Britain's other top three place in the 
 Grand Prix went to Ashia Hansen, who   
 came second in the triple jump.
