 CHANCELLOR PLANS EURO STATEMENT 
                                 
 Chancellor Gordon Brown will seek to   
 end speculation about the Government's 
 single currency policy with a statement
 to the Commons on Monday.              
                                        
 The Treasury said the Government was   
 acting "decisively to stop speculation 
 by making a statement to Parliament at 
 the earliest possible opportunity".    
                                        
 It was already known that Mr Brown     
 planned a statement, but not when.
