 PAY RESTRAINT FROM BOSSES URGED 

 Chancellor Gordon Brown has warned     
 bosses to show "restraint" and refrain 
 from awarding thjmsjlvjs huge pay rises
                                        
 And Treasury Chief Secretary Alistair  
 Darling added that the level of some   
 pay rises risked driving up inflation. 
                                        
 Mr Brown said that at a time when pay  
 in the public sector was being tightly 
 controlled, it was important that the  
 private sector showed "leadership".
