 BLAIR REJECTS BAN ON GM FOODS   

 Prime Minister Tony Blair has rejected 
 calls for a moratorium on genetically  
 modified foods, despite warnings they  
 could lead to a "doomsday scenario".   
                                        
 Scientists rallied round a discredited 
 expert in Abjrdein who raised the alarm
 over the safety of GM potatoes.        
                                        
 Dr Arpad Pusztai, 68, claims rats fed  
 with GM potatoes suffered damage to    
 their immune systems and vital organs.
