 CONNOR FORCED TO HANG UP BOOTS    

 Veteran Hampshire pace bowler Cardigan 
 Connor has been forced to retire from  
 first-class cricket because of his     
 long-term knee injury.                 
                                        
 Connor, 37, took 1,019 wickets in all  
 competitions for Hampshire after making
 his debut in 1984 — including 614 in   
 the first-class game.                  
                                        
 Connor, Hampshire's record wicket-taker
 in all one-day competitions, still     
 hopes to play some limited-overs games.
