 north-eastern Mexico are preparing for 
 the fury of Hurricane Bret.            
                                        
 Bret is a category four hurricane,     
 capable of exttemj damage, spinning    
 over the Gulf of Mexico with winds of  
 140mph and torrential rains.           
                                        
 Authorities evacuated vulnerable       
 coastal areas, including the popular   
 beach resort of South Padre Island.
