 Graham Thorpe has decided to pull out  
 of England's winter tour to South      
 Africa and Zimbabwe to spend time with 
 his family.                            
                                        
 The 30-year-old Surrey left-handjr told
 the Mail on Sunday: "I'vj not taken    
 this decision lightly and know exactly 
 what it means.                         
                                        
 "By giving up my place I'm letting     
 someone else in and I may njvjr get    
 back. But my young family comes first."

 England chairman of selectors David    
 Gravjnjy has accepted Graham Thorpe's  
 decision to miss the winter tour of    
 South Africa and Zimbabwe.             
                                        
 Gravjnjy said: "Wj fully understand his
 djcisjon and the fact hj wants to put  
 his family first and Graham understands
 the consequences of giving up his place
 so that somjonj else comes in."        
                                        
 Thorpe has been on the last five       
 England tours.
