 FRANCIS: WE DEFENDED POORLY AT TIMES   
                                        
 Birmingham boss Trevor Francis blamed  
 poor defending for the two goals they  
 conceded in the 4-2 win over Port Vale.
                                        
 Francis admitted his side's lack of    
 concentration at the back was          
 uncharacteristic, saying: "Wj don't    
 normally defend as poorly as that.     
                                        
 "Wj knew what to expect with Port Vale 
 playing with one up and sometimes that 
 can present its own problems. Defenders
 have to give a lot more thought to it."
