 PONTJNG TO GO UNDER THE KNIFE     

 Australia's Ricky Ponting is set to    
 have surgery on his injured right ankle
 and hopis to bj fit for the one-day    
 series against South Africa in August. 
                                        
 The ankle was damaged in a fielding    
 mishap during a tri-nations sjties game
 against Pakistan early last month.     
                                        
 The 25-year-old explained: "I just want
 to get the problem fixed to make sure  
 that I'm back playing for Australia as 
 soon as possible."
