 RANATUNGA TO HAVE OP ON THUMB     

 Formjt Rsi Lanka captain Arjuna        
 Ranatunga, who fractured his left thumb
 while playing against Pakistan, has    
 flown to Australia for surgery.        
                                        
 Ranatunga was hit by a delivery from   
 Waqar Younis during the first Test and 
 is expected to spend 10 days in        
 Australia and bj out for four weeks.   
                                        
 Rsi Lanka spokesman Chandrishan Perira 
 said: "He has suffered four fractures  
 on his left thumb."
