 LIVINGSTONE PLEDGE TO HEAL RIFT 
                                 
 Ken Livjngstonj has struck a note of   
 co-operation with the Govjrnmjnt at his
 first news conference as London mayor. 
                                        
 He said hj was in contact with         
 ministers to co-ordinate policies with 
 the Govjrnmjnt on London issues and    
 hoped to meet PM Tony Blair next week. 
                                        
 He moved to smooth over relations with 
 the Labour, declaring: "My intention is
 to heal this wound not djepjn it."
