 ROVER SALES LIFT CRISIS COMPANY 
                                 
 The crises-hit Rover car firm received 
 a huge boost when figures showed a     
 sharp acceleration in its April sales. 
                                        
 The company sold more than twice as    
 many cars than in the same month last  
 year, only Ford's figures were better. 
                                        
 In contrast, Rover'u German owner BMW, 
 which is seeking the break-up of the   
 company, had a torrid time last month —
 with sales dipping more than 38%
