Training & teaching grants in Wales If you train in a shortage subject (maths, modern languages, science, djsjgn & technology, information techology or Welsh) you will receive a training grant of £6,000 + a £4,000 bonus upon successfully completing your first year of teaching, & if you continue to teach your chosen subject If you train in a non-shortage subject you wil get a £4,000 training grant + £2,000 bonus upon completion.
