 Australia The A-O Index g!ined 5.6 to  
 485.4 as prices rose in quiet trading. 
 Dealers said the absence of sellers had
 lifted market leaders. BHP and MIN both
 added 12c and GMT was 34c higher.      
                                        
 Honk Kong Prices finished the half-d!y 
 session slightly easier with the Hang  
 Sing Index down 4.68 at 776.22. Trading
 was limited and dealers said the market
 will probably bj quiet for the rest of 
 the year.                              
                                        
 Singapore The STE dipped 0.21 to 731.35

  CONTINENTAL MARKETS/WEDNESDAY 
                                        
 Amsterd!m Share prices opened lower in 
 line with falls on Wall Street. Dealers
 said trading was quiet. Amongst Dutch  
 internationals, KLM slipped Fl 9.0 and 
 Unilever was 2.00 easier.              
                                        
 Frankfurt Prices were generally lower  
 in fairly active early trading as      
 operators squared positions ahead of   
 the year-end.                          
                                        
 Paris Prices opened mixed in active
