A warmly-worded message of thanks was sent to the Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Ioannis Charalambopolos, by his Turkish counterpart, Mr Iltet Turkman. It was in marked contrast to the usual chilly state of relations between the two countries. The hijackjt, 25-year-old Mahmoud Kalkan, was overpowered when Greek police stormed the Turkish Airlines Boeing 727 last night.
