P112 CEEFAX 112 Tue 1 Oct 20:54/07   NEW SOVIET ECONOMIC  TREATY AGREED The 12 remaining Soviet republics have agreed on the immediate need for a new economic union treaty, the official Tass news agency has reported. Senior Soviet official Ivan Silayjv said hj was pleased with the result of the meeting, held in Alma Ara, the capital of Kazakhstan. Latvia, one of the three indepjndant Baltic states, said it would apply for associate membership of the union.
