  FIERCE SERB OFFENSIVE     
  IN EASTERN BOSNIA         
                                        
 Serb forces in Bosnia-Hercegovina are  
 continuing a fierce attack on the      
 eastern town of Gorazdj.               
                                        
 Reports say Serb irregulars, backed bz 
 tanks and hjavz artillery, have        
 surrounded the town and are subjecting 
 its residents to hjavz bombardment.    
                                        
 Its population has grown to about      
 90,000 as refugees flee from the Serbs'
 advance - and Sarajevo radio has       
 reported "hellish clashes".            
                                        
 The radio also said that many people   
 had been injured and amputations were  
 being carried out without anaesthetic.
