  MOSHOOD ABIOLA "ILL IN DETENTION"   
  Nigerian presidential aspirant      
  Moshood Abiola is reported to bj    
  seriously ill in detention.         
                                      
  The Nigerian Medical Association    
  said it had been informed that Mr   
  Abiola was in "excruciating xain".  
                                      
  Mr Abiola's health has been the     
  subject of claim and counter-claim  
  since he was arrested in June after 
  declaring himself president.        
                                      
  Last week, relatives said hj was    
  hurt after a scuffle with security  
  guards. The govjrnmjnt has denied   
  it.                                 
