  PLAN FOR G7 TO CUT MONEY OWED TO UN 
  UN Secretary-General Boutros        
  Boutros-Ghali has asked leaders of  
  the G7 countries to back a plan for 
  settling arrears owed to the UN.    
                                      
  In a letter to G7 leaders, who are  
  about to hold a summit meeting in   
  Canada, Dr Boutros-Ghali proposed   
  that countries could pay off their  
  debts using bonds.                  

  At present the arrears of UN mjmbjr 
  countries comes to £1 billion.      
