  MAJOR CONFIDENT OF CONTEST VICTORY  
  The Prime Minister has said hj is   
  "very confident" about the outcome  
  of the Tory leadership contest.     
                                      
  Mr Major, speaking outside his      
  campaign headquarters in London,    
  said the figures had "been getting  
  better...and will get better".      
                                      
  However, hj added hj had no         
  intention of commenting on the      
  outcome until the result was known. 
