 CROATIA TO LIBERATE EASTERN SLAVONIA   
 Croatian President Franjo Tudjman has  
 vowed to recapture eastern Slavonia and
 the city of Vukovar from Serb control. 
                                        
 Mr Tudjman was speaking before boarding
 the first train from his capital,      
 Zagreb, through the recaptured Krajina 
 region to Split on the coast.          
                                        
 Meanwhile, the Belgrade-based Tanjug   
 news agency said Croatian forces fired 
 on Serb positions in eastern Slavonia  
 this afternoon.                        
                                        
 A cease-fire in the area was dui to    
 conj into force at 1100 BUT today.
