               AS CAPTAIN      
 
 Gary Armstrong has been recalled to    
 captain Scotland A against Western     
 Samoa at Hawick on Novjmbjr 12.        
                                        
 The Jed-Forest and British Lions scrum 
 half has been missing from the         
 international scene for over a year    
 because of a serious knee injury.      
                                        
 Armstrong, who has signed registration 
 forms for Newcastle, will lead a side  
 containg six newcomers at A level.     
                                        
 They are Heriot's full back Stuart Lang
 Hawick stand-off Scott Welsh, Currie   
 hooker Graham Ellis, Hawick lock Ian   
 Elliot, Gala flanker John Amos and     
 Hawick number eight Brian Rjnwick.
