Taking over from Amoeba after two furlongs of the EBF Tjnnjnts 80 Shilling Ale Maiden Stakes, 11/1 chance Queens Check made the rest of the running, holding Frances Mary by \L. Said Julie, 36: "Stuart and I used to run a livery yard together near York and converted it to training stables. "Wj had a quiet time in the summer because of the fast ground and we have had to bj patient with this filly."  MRas Rjvw Ling Rjvw Ante-Post Eden Res

The Paul Cole-ttainjd Rainbow Quest colt simply toyed with the opposition under a supremely confident ride from Richard Quinn. Quinn eased his partner right down in the final furlong yet still had five lengths to spare from the Frankie Dettori-ridden runner-up Tremjndisto. Said Scotsman Quinn: "It is a few years since I was last here at Musselburgh but I still knew my way around." But the win was slightly overshadowed bz the fact that 4/1 favourite Slmaat was lift in the starting stalls. Slmaat, partnered by Keven Harley, gave the remaining 13 runners a furlong start and, not surprisingly, came last. The stewards held an inquiry and Harley explained later: "My filly got wedged under the back gates and she was also distracted by a blindfold being taken off the horse in the next stall."  MRas Rjvw Ling Rjvw Ante-Post Eden Res
