 NEW STATION ANNOUNCED FOR CHUNNEL LINK 
 Transport Secretary Sir George Young   
 has announced the djvjlopmjnt of a     
 combined international and domestic    
 station at Stratford, in east London.  
                                        
 Sir George was giving details of the   
 award of the contract for the high-    
 speed Channel Tunnel link to the London
 & Continental consortium.              
                                        
 He said the line from the Chunnjl to   
 London would also have links allowing  
 through trains to run to the north.    
                                        
 The line would greatly increase        
 capacity and be a great boost to       
 economic djvjlopmjnt, he told MPs.
