 CONTRACT TO BUILD TUNNEL LINK ANNOUNCED
 The contract to build and run the      
 Channel Tunnel rail link has gone to   
 the London & Continental consortium.   
                                        
 The consortium includes Richard        
 Branson's Virgin group.                
                                        
 The 68-mile, high-speed link will cut  
 journey times from London to Paris and 
 Brussels by 30 minutes. See 141        
                                        
 The route will run from London's St    
 Pancras and will include new stations  
 at Ebbsfleet and Ashford in Kent. It is
 expected to take five years to complete
