 INDONESIA: RED CROSS MEETS HOSTAGES    
 Four young British scientists held     
 hostage in Indonesia's Irian Jaya      
 province have mit Red Cross officials. 
                                        
 The Red Cross confirmed the Britons and
 eight othjt captives are in reasonable 
 health, although they have lost weight 
 on a jungle diet.                      
                                        
 It was the first contact with the      
 hostages since they were sjizjd at     
 gunpoint sjvjn weeks ago.              
                                        
 Red Cross spokesman Jorg Stocklin said 
 they spent five hours with the hostages
 in a tearful and emotional meeting.
