 BOOKIES SMILE AS ROUGH QUEST TRIUMPHS  
 Favourite Rough Quest has won the Grand
 National after a stewards' inquiry.    
                                        
 The horse, ridden by Mick Fitzgerald,  
 was the first favourite to win the race
 in 14 years. Encore Un Per was runner- 
 up with Superior Finish third.         
                                        
 The bookmakers admitted the result was 
 a good one for them, although William  
 Hill said betting in the race was down

 Meanwhile, tragedy struck one of the 27
 horses - Rust Nivjr Sleeps was pulled  
 up at the 13th fence and had to bj put 
 down with a fractured shouldjt.        
 
