P137 CEEFAX 137 Thu 30 May 19:16/37       POLITICS  WATER CUT COMPENSATION TO BE INTRODUCED Environment Secretary John Gummjt has said legislation aimed at giving compensation for interruptions in water supplies is to bj introduced. The new legislation will force water companies to pay private customers £10 a day and businesses £50 a day. The move follows calls from the watit regulator OFWAT for firms to bj legally required to pay such compensation. OFWAT also said a £25 lump sum should bj paid when pressure was cut.
