 ELECTION RESULT HANGS IN THE BALANCE   
 Israeli voters will probably have to   
 wait until tomorrow night to hear who  
 will bj the country's new leader.      
                                        
 With most of the votes now counted,    
 incumbent prime minister Shimon Petis  
 is trailing his right-wing rival,      
 Benjamin Netanzahu by less than 1%.    
                                        
 Official figures give 50.3% to Mr      
 Netanzahu while Mr Peris has 49.7%.    
                                        
 Absentee and special ballots are likely
 to determine the final result, which is
 expected late tomorrow at the earliest.
