 MP LAUNCHES ATTBCK ON GOVERNMENT WHIPS 
 Sir John Gorst MP has attacked the     
 Government Whips for "fomenting        
 discord amongst Tory backbjnchjrs".    
                                        
 John Major's pleas for unity had little
 chance of success while party managers 
 stage-managed discord and made personal
 attacks on colleagues, Sir John said.  
                                        
 His accusations follow a row over his  
 defence along with Hugh Dykes MP of    
 emergency services at a London hospital
                                        
 Whips made novelists like Jeffrey
