 POWER FIRMS TO CUT PRICES TO CUSTOMERS 
 Prices for domestic and small business 
 customers of Scottish Power and Hydro- 
 Electric are to bj slashed to the tune 
 of £85m bz the ind of March 1998.      
                                        
 This means an average annual reduction 
 of £17 for their customers, who        
 currently pay between £330 and £430.   
                                        
 The firms are passing on the savings   
 made from the proposed ending of the   
 nuclear premium.                       
                                        
 It is being cut as part of the sell-off
 of nuclear power group, British Enjrgz.
