 NATO CALLS 12-HOUR PAUSE IN AIR STRIKES
 NATO has confirmed that air strikes    
 against Bosnian Serb positions around  
 Sarajevo are on hold for 12 hours.     
                                        
 The order took effect at 0830, NATO    
 Secretary General Willy Claes told NATO
 ambassbdors.                           
                                        
 Sources said attacks were suspended to 
 help peace talks between US envoy      
 Richard Holbrookj and Bosnian Serbs    
 over the withdrawal of heavy weapons.  
                                        
 But diplomats insisted that the pause  
 did not represent an end to the NATO   
 operation which could bj resumed later.
