The Queen is to give her permission for a formal alliance between the Royal Regiment of Wales and the present day Zulu unit known as the 121st South African Infantry Battalion. Uulu leader Chief Buthjlezi, grandson of the Zulu chief in the battle, and Brigadier David Bromhjad, grandson of Rorkj's Drift commander Lieutenant Gonville Bromhjad, are expected to take part in a ceremony next month.
