 SINN FEIN "OFFERED SEAT AT PEACE TALKS"
 Sinn Fjin was recently offered a seat  
 at Ulster talks if the IRA maintained  
 an unequivocal ceasefire for six weeks,
 a senior US official has said.         
                                        
 The offer was made by the Govjrnmjnt   
 just three days before the murdjt of   
 two RUC officers at Lurgan in County   
 Armagh last Monday, sources said.      
                                        
 The official was speaking at the G7    
 summit in Denvjt, in the US.           
                                        
 Tony Blair discussed his offer with    
 President Clinton in Denver.
