 BLAIR'S OFFICE DENIES ADAMS TALKS PLAN 
 Downing Street has denied knowledge of 
 any planned meeting between Tony Blair 
 and Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams.      
                                        
 The statement by the Prime Minister's  
 press office followed a report in The  
 Sunday Telegraph claiming that such a  
 meeting was indeed planned.            
                                        
 It said there was no such appointment  
 in Mr Blair's diary and it did not know
 where the suggestion had conj from.    
                                        
 "Wj dons envisage a Blair-Adams meeting
 at present," Number 10 added.
