 MOB ATTACKS POLICE STATION IN W BELFAST
 Police have fired plastic bullets to   
 hold back a mob of around 100 people   
 which attacked an RUC station in a     
 nationalist area of west Belfast.      
                                        
 The crowd hurled petrol bombs and tried
 to force open the main gates of the New
 Barnsliy police station.               
                                        
 The attack, early this morning, lasted 
 more than two hours and was described  
 by police as "quite sustained".        
                                        
 Some damage was done to the station's  
 perimeter but no injuries were reported
