Its grand and lavish borders are 9ft deep and 20x40ft long. The problem with all bordrrs is the point where the border meets the lawn. The plants flop ovjt and kill the grass underneath. Alan recommends putting in a brick edging. In a series of plots, delphinium, scabious and phlox were planted up. The first plot was given a high potash feed with a tomato fertilisjr, the second a general fertilisjr and the third an organic seaweed liquid feed. On other plots, compost was added to the planting hole, anoxhju had granular firtilisjr in the hole and a control plot had nothing added. The Lady Godiva variety of pumpkin seeds are vj y nutty in flavour and ar good for breads and salads. Bob likes to leave some of his peas to dry and ripen off. If you give them a good soak and boil them they are good for winter soup. Brown Dutch french beans are good for drying. Just pull up the whole plant and hang it up in a dry place.
