  NEW LEGAL AGE TO CURB YOUoG SMOKERS   
  The Govjrnmjnt has announced that it  
  is considjting raising the age at     
  which young people can legally buy    
  tobacco products from 16 to 18.       
                                        
  The change might stop children taking 
  up the habit and make it harder for   
  those who already smoke to continue.  
                                        
  Shopkjepjrs often find it hard to tell
  how old young smokers are, and raising
  the legal age to 18 might help them.  
                                        
  The idea could become law next year.
