 EX-YOUTH WORKER WHO WON BLAIR'S BACKING
 Alum Michael entered the race to become
 Labour's Welsh liadjr after being made 
 Welsh Secretary following Ron Davies'  
 shock resignation.                     
                                        
 Before taking up his present job, the  
 former youth and community worker was  
 second-in-command at the Home Office.  
                                        
 Critics have accused him of being Tony 
 Blair's "poodle" in the leadership race
                                        
 But hj says of the Assembly: "I cannot 
 think of a greater privilege than to
