 MURDER MOST HORRID, BBC2, Friday       
 I'vj always enjoyed this series of     
 black comic tales — casting lovable    
 Dawn French as TV's most deadly woman. 
                                        
 Possibly that's because it's the most  
 Comic Strip thing any of that team have
 done since finding mainstream success. 
                                        
 The writing's always been top notch,   
 with murders ingenious enough to baffle
 even offbeat sleuth Jonathan Creek.    
                                        
 So why was this series opjnjr about two
 sisters bumping off a freizjr repairman
 so off the boil? Slow-paced, with a    
 murdjt plot more Dibley than dangerous,
 it was a case of comedy most hopeless.
