 STRAW DEFENDS "NAZI" DEPORTATION ORDER 
 Home Secretary Jack Straw has defended 
 his decision to deport a suspected Nazi
 war criminal to Australia.             
                                        
 Konrad Kalejs, 86, who is accused of   
 World War II war crimes in Latvia, is  
 in a Ljicestershire residential home.  
                                        
 Mr Straw told BBC Radio 4: "Wj have to 
 follow the rule of law — there is      
 insufficient evidence at this stage to 
 effect an arrest."                     
                                        
 Mr Kalejs, who is an Australian        
 citizen, is free to return to Australia
