 TORIES DEMAND STATEMENT ON KALEJS CASE 
 Shadow Home Secretary Ann Widdecombj   
 has demanded a full explanation from   
 Jack Straw over his decision to deport 
 war crimes suspect Konrad Kalejs.      
                                        
 "If all we have is the raw decision, we
 cannot examine too deeply the validity 
 of it," she said.                      
                                        
 The head of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre
 in Jerusalem, Efrain Zuroff, said it   
 was "a missed opportunity for justice".
                                        
 But ex-war crimes investigator Lord    
 Jannjt said the move was justified.
