  Dickens, in favour of horror stories. 
                                        
  According to a survey, RL Stine — US  
  author of the Goosebumps series — tops
  the borrowing figures from 100 school 
  libraries across the UK.              
                                        
  Terry Deary's Horrible Histories comes
  second in the poll conducted by an    
  education website, www.schoolsnet.com.
                                        
  CS Lewis, author of the Narnia tales, 
  came 66th and Dickens came 104th.
