Mr Kenneth Baker said some progress had been made but "major points of concern" rembinjd - particularly on the cost and shape of pay structure. Mr Baker said ACAS negotiations would resume on Wednesday following the draft agreement reached on Saturday between the employers and most teaching unions. He said the aim was to achieve a pay structure that rewarded good teachers and provided continuing incentives.

After deliberating for three and a half hours the jury found Bonnyman, 63, guilty of careless driving. He was fined £200, banned from driving for three years and awarded costs.
