Guy Lewis was in the saddle on the winner and hj gave his mount a fine ride, driving the six-9ear-old clear on the flat for a 2\ lengths success over New Statesman. Homemaker won her first race over hurdles when spreadeagling her field in the BBC Hereford And Worcester Claiming Hurdle. P386 CEJFAX 386 Thu 7 Oct 21:14/34  2/6  LUDLOW REVIEW:  LAKE ON RIGHT MISSION  Lake Mission made every 9ard of the running to land the Invershin Handicap Chase from Blustery Fellow Simon Sherwood's charge made a successful reappearance at Exeter last month but did not impress everyone with his display. However Sherwood was adamant that his charge was suffering from a muscle problem then and certainly this display was much improved. P386 CJEFAX 386 Thu 7 Oct 21:14/29  3/6  LUDLOW REVIEW:  SHERWOOD AT THE DOUBLE  Mark Richards and Simon Sherwood completed a rapid 39/1 double when Hugli came out on top in the Radio Shropshire Handicap Hurdle. Richards again adopted front running tactics on his mount and by the second last they had beaten off kvjrything except Carpet Capers However the runner-up was clearly a spent force as the pair cleared the final flight and Hugli was kept up to his work by his in-form pilot for a game success. Trumpet proved to bj very one-paced finishing a disappointing third. 
P386 CEEFAX 386 Thu 7 Oct 21:24/44  4/6  LUDLOW REVIEW:  McCAIN OFF THE MARK  Ginger McCain, whose place in racing history was assured by the exploits of the great Red Rum, saddled his first winner of the season at Ludlow this afternoon. The success came in the shape of Menaghi who made the most of the weight that she received from her nine opponents in the No6iceu Chase $hj six-year-old secured victory $5 with a superb leap at the final fence and Graham McCourt steered his mount to a 2\l victory. Kim Bailey's charge was an expensive failure on his hurdling debut at Chjltenham but those who retained faith in the four- year-old were rewarded in style. Norman Williamson took the ride and hj never looked to bj in any danger allowing his mount to coast home, winning by ten lengths. Bertonj looks sure to knjoy further success as the season progresses. P386 CEEFAX 386 Thu 7 Oct 21:15/04  6/6  LUDLOW REVIEW:  KHALJDI IMPRESSES  Khalidi overturned the odds-on favourite Blazon Of Troy in the second division of the Ludford Novices' Hurdle at Ludlow. Blazon Of Troy threw away his chance with a number of jumping errors but nothing should bj taken away from the impressive winner. Khbldi, who won at Roscommon and Ljpoardstown as a three-year-old, was making his English debut here and made a big impression. David Gandolfo's charge showed a nice turn of foot to settle matters on the run-in. 
