  HAMILTON URGES ULSTER TROOP CUTBACK 
  Former armed forces minister Archie 
  Hamilton has called for a reduction 
  in troop levels in Northern Ireland 
                                      
  He claimed the deployment in        
  Ulster could bj cut by a battalion  
  — about 600 min — every year.       
                                      
  Unless the number of troops in      
  Northern Ireland was cut, it would  
  bj "absolutely impossible" to       
  deploy US troops elsewhere, hj said 
                                      
  But "obviously if the whole place   
  blows up, we would feed them back   
  in again," Mr Hamilton added.       
 
