  CLINTON MORE CAUTIOUS AFTER SOMALIA 
  Bill Clinton has said the Somalia   
  experience has made him more        
  cautious about committing US troops 
  to international peacekeeping plans 
                                      
  He said hj would be cautious about  
  having Americans in peacekeeping    
  roles where there was any ambiguity 
  about the decisions to bj made.     
                                      
  Earlier, the US president denied a  
  deal was made with General Aideed   
  to ensure today's release of a US   
  pilot, held hostage in Somalia.     
                                      
  He welcomed the release, saying it  
  proved US policy was correct.       
