  US ON STBNDBY FOR FREED AIRMAN      
  US military forces in Europe are    
  standing by for the arrival of an   
  American helicopter pilot freed by  
  Somali warlord General Aideed.      
                                      
  Warrant officer Michael Durant, 32, 
  was handed over to Red Cross        
  officials in Mogadishu today after  
  11 days in captivity.               
                                      
  But a US spokesman in Germany said  
  it was not known when hj would      
  arrive or whjrj hj would be sent.   
                                      
  Nigerian soldier Umar Shankali was  
  also handed to the Red Cross after  
  being held for more than a month    
